Michael Jackson also passed away today. Initial reports say it was cardiac arrest. He was 50.
I heard a rumor that Jeff Goldblum also passed away today but I can't verify that anywhere. So far, it is just a rumor.
There was a news report tonight that Farah Fawcett is in Intensive Care with her family around her. The report sounded like she would pass away very soon.
Cancer sucks. There are always rumors that there is a cure for cancer but they (who "they" is I'm not sure) won't tell because the pharmaceutical companies make a lot of money off of cancer victims. What do you think?
Madonna, once dripping in Diamond necklaces as the Material Girl, is now at home in England with her four-year-old newly adopted daughter, Mercy. A little more than a week ago, the court reversed a previous decision that denied Madonna the right to adopt this child. There is still controversy brewing over the adoption (and that of her son, David's adoption as well). There has always been controversy surrounding Madonna so this is just one more thing in a long line of controversies.
From her "Like a Virgin" song that struck terror in the hearts of some parents over the use of the word "virgin" in a song while writhing on the floor in a wedding dress, to her song "Like a Prayer" where she danced in front of a burning cross, to her "Papa Don't Preach" abortion controversy, to "Truth or Dare", to her banning on MTV due to "Justify My Love"...see, the controversies just go on and on.
I think controversy will always follow Madonna as she frequently re-invents herself to stay successful in the business. Will it affect her children as well?
Not all celebrities live in the Hollywood Hills though we that's where we tend to think of them making their homes for the most part. Let's take a look at another California hot spot (the O.C. aka Orange County) and see who lives there:
With great surroundings, celebrities, and local businesses, the area is a beautiful place to visit if you can't afford to live there. If you are looking for publicity for your business, check out web site design orange county where Click Consulting can give you the web presence your business deserves. I'd love to see the beaches in Orange County and perhaps catch a glimpse of a celebrity.

What are they going to do, film a "Jon and Kate Plus 8 in two separate homes with custody, visitation, and child support" now? Can you imagine splitting up the household, dividing up toys, time, extra help, and having to buy extras for everything for two homes? Dad gets these children's clothes and mom gets these, dad gets these toys for his house and mom gets these, these pictures go to mom and these go to dad, these personalized baby gifts go to mom and the rest for dad, etc. Would the extra help just travel between the two homes? It's hard enough when you only have a couple kids but helping a family of children this size to adjust would be very difficult. It'd be neverending with all of those kids!
Maybe the announcement will be a reconciliation. The network would get more viewers if they turn this into a separation/divorce scenario though. They could probably get a few more years out of the show!
There was all kinds of celebrity expecting news this past week...
Hollywood sure has been getting busy! Imagine the extravagant baby showers being held on the west coast. I'd like to be a fly on the wall to see how the other half lives - luxury, fine dining, and baby gifts galore!
I think personalized baby gifts are the best gifts to give and receive. Most other gifts are used and then passed onto other siblings or sold at garage sales (well, not in Hollywood but in my neighborhood). Personalized baby gifts are kept and treasured and then passed onto that child when they are adults. I have every personalized baby gift I ever received for my children put away to give them when they're older.

Well, Madonna won't be shopping for any clothing for pregnancy but she is a momma again! Initially, the material girl had been denied when she wanted to adopt three-year-old, Mercy (I love that name). She took it to a higher court and a Malawi judge approved the adoption.
Madonna has three other children: Lourdes Maria, 11 ½, Rocco John, 7 ½, and David Banda, 2 ½. David was also adopted.
Madonna's adoptions have caused some controversy between those who think it is wonderful for her and the children and those who don't. There are those who believe the children should remain in their own country in a "culturally appropriate home environment." There are also those who believe that with all the children in the United States who sit waiting to be adopted, many never to be adopted, that celebrities and those who go outside the country should stay within their own borders when looking to adopt. Each side has a point.
How do you get that all-over healthy glow without the unhealthy risks of developing skin cancer? Spray Tanning! Celebrities are doing it. Here are a few:
In an industry where aging is a big deal, staying out of the sun certainly seems like the smartest (and healthiest) way to go if you want to keep the jobs and success coming your way.

Jada Pinkett Smith's role involves women's lab coats, as she is a starring cast member in this medical drama, AND she gets a Producer chair as well as one of the Executive Producers of the show. This is a long way from her role in A Different World, which I used to watch back in the early 1990's.
Maybe.
Rumors swirl that Usher (Usher Raymond) has filed for divorce from his wife, Tameka, however his wife hasn't received papers yet. Real or rumor? Nobody knows yet.
On August 6, Burt Reynolds will receive the 2009 Safe Home Equine Protection Award. It's being given to him for his protection of the wild and domestic horses in America and his opposition to horse slaughter.

I write several blogs but never would I publish a photo like that. A few weeks ago, there was a photo of a girl who'd died in a car accident published elsewhere that had everybody panting over seeing it. The reports were that some sicko had even sent it to this girl's family. I don't get that. I find in disgusting.
He died (for whatever reason, he's gone). Let the family get through their investigation and grieve in peace now.
Rumors swirled when David Carradine was found dead in his hotel room...first it was suicide which was unbelievable according to those close to him, then accidental death (by auto-erotic asphyxiation) or murder. I'm thinking if the rumors are true, it is the second one which is a really sad way for a well-known, long-time actor to be remembered.
Reports are saying that he was not alone in his hotel room at the time of his death but who was with him has been withheld. True? Don't know.
According to Wikipedia:
"Erotic asphyxiation refers to intentionally cutting off oxygen to the brain for sexual arousal. It is also called asphyxiophilia, autoerotic asphyxia, scarfing, kotzwarraism, or breath control play. Colloquially, a person engaging in the activity is sometimes called a gasper. The erotic interest in asphyxiation is classified as a paraphilia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association. Psychiatrist Joseph Merlino stated that it meets the criteria for a disorder "because it has the potential for lethality or serious injury."
You might remember, Michael Hutchence, lead singer of INXS, was also rumored to have died this way.
My thoughts go out to David Carradine's family regardless of the final report on how he passed away. With over 100 feature films behind him, he should be remembered for his lifetime of work, not his last day.
Celebrities seemed to have cleared the way for wearing a swimsuit while pregnant. When I was pregnant, I never saw pregnant women in maternity suits. In fact, I never even took a picture of my bare pregnant belly! Now I see them everywhere posing in their proud pregnant state or just lifting their top for a quick picture to keep. I've watched my younger sisters post their baby bump pictures in a maternity suit on Facebook!
Take, for instance, Tori Spelling posing with the obvious baby bump in several different bikinis in magazines recently. She seems very proud of her maternal body, like a lot of other celebrities who choose to pose in a maternity swimsuit (or less if you are Demi Moore who paved the way for it years ago).
Oh. My. Gosh. I don't know what else to say. I'm speechless.
