Hollywood Politics

>> Monday, March 11, 2013

I've not posted here in such a long time.  I've been very disillusioned at Hollywood's drooling over President Obama.  I really think that with the spotlight celebrities have on them, they should keep their mouths shut politically speaking because when they don't, the less informed voters go along with what is mainstream (and celebrities and that culture is mainstream) and that's bad for the rest of us who actually care about our country but get stuck with...well, who we are stuck with.

When they speak out, they tend to lose me as a fan.  Jon Bon Jovi is an example.  I have LOVED him since I was a kid but the past couple years, there's no shine left on him for me.  It's a turn off when celebrities mix politics with their celebrity glitter.

I am not sure if I will use this blog or not.  I guess time will tell.

Moron and Obama in the Same Sentence?

>> Friday, September 23, 2011

Wow, the media used Obama and "moronically" in the same sentence.  Isn't that against some media rule or something enacted when President Obama became President?  I was surprised to see it - not surprised at the action of President Obama but at the way it was reported.  Here is the article and here is the photo they are talking about.

I found this commentator's response particularly funny.

so, is the photo real?  Some say yes.  Who knows.

Janeane Garofalo Tea Party Opinion - What an Ass

>> Monday, April 20, 2009

Anybody who doesn't have the same opinion as Janeane Garofalo and chooses to exercise their rights are racists and red-neck? Give me a break. I don't agree with the huge debt that is being put on my children and future grandchildren by Obama and his Administration with all the bailouts and pork. I wasn't at any of the demonstrations but if there had been one locally, I might have been as is my right. I don't think that makes me a racist or a red-neck. I have free speech/expression and the freedom to peacefully assemble. I guess this actress has the same right to spew the hate she did and insult anybody who doesn't agree with Obama's moves so far but she just made herself look like a radical idiot in my personal opinion.

Michelle Obama's Flat Shoes

>> Friday, January 23, 2009

Everybody is making such a big deal over the "fashion" of Michelle Obama. Sorry but I could care less about her clothes, where they came from or how much they cost. Every time I turn on the television, the media is gushing over it so I turn the station. It's just not high on my list of priorities.

Yesterday, it was all about her flat shoes. They showed her standing next to President Obama while he shook hands with somebody. The media was guessing that she wore flat shoes because she must've had sore feet from the green Jimmy Choo shoes she wore in the days before.

My guess? She wore flat shoes because it put her at just about the same height as her husband, maybe a tad slightly shorter, for that photo op. She comes across as a bit dominant, to me, and my guess is they don't want her photographed (in the beginning) as taller or to be portrayed as the more dominant of the couple, the more powerful of the couple, as he is introduced to other politicians around the world.

That was my feeling about it when I saw the picture the media showed yesterday. She looked more subdued and not so "in your face" in the picture. Sore feet? Give me a break. Women everywhere walk all day long in heels higher than those Jimmy Choo shoes she had on.

This is the only picture I could find of those flat shoes everybody was gushing over yesterday.
